DWAYNE CORNELL aka RAZA SHARP

Even early on, Raza Sharp was a standout hair artist! While at cosmetology school to hone his technical skills in women’s hairstyling, he skipped to the head of the class and turned heads with his creative hair cuts and placeing highly in hair cutting competitions. Asked to represent his school at international hair shows, he placed in the top five at an event held at New York’s Jacob Javits Convention Center in his first student competition.

In 2000 , Raza Sharp attended the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Academy to enhance his credentials and skills. With his relentless quest for perfection, he solidified his technical and creative techniques at the Sassoon Academy under the tutelage of some of the masters in the industry. After three intense years of training and internship at Vidal Sassoon Raza Sharp had discovered and refined his forte – edgy precision haircutting!

Known for his award winning haircuts and up-dos, Raza Sharp’s creative styles have graced the New York Fashion Week runway shows of such American designers as Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan (lead stylist Fall 2007) and Tracy Reese. Among Raza Sharp’s awards was a first place win in 2007 at the New Jersey International Hair and Beauty Show for Best Updo in a live onstage competition. His artistry has been featured in Essence, Hype Hair and Black Hair Sophisticates magazines. His latest work is displayed in the 2010 november issue edition of the ESSENCE magazine all hair edition!!

Despite his accolades, Raza Sharp strongly believes there is always more for a confident stylist
 to learn and accomplish. In that spirit that he is introducing the Raza Sharp International Hair Cutting classes, in which he will share his winning techniques and methods with up-and-coming stylists who wish to refine their skills. Committed to community as well as his craft, Raza Sharp also plans to contribute a portion of the proceeds from these classes to domestic violence centers across the nation.
